The formula for this supplement is not published anywhere online, but may have been available when this product was still for sale. However, it was discovered that this product contained a prescription drug, which was not mentioned on the supplement’s label or available for over-the-counter sale.

Though, in various reports, it was confirmed that Vinarol tablets contained Sildenafil and certain nitrates.

Sildenafil is a controlled substance, and is usually only available via a prescription. It is the active ingredient in Viagra, and is described as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor. As with most prescription medications, there are potential adverse side effects that are associated with this ingredient, and some people who use Vinarol may have unexpectedly experienced them. Some of these side effects include: headache, flushing, upset stomach, stuffy nose, diarrhea, blurred vision, changes in blue or green vision, prolonged or painful erections or increased light sensitivity.

However, this prescription drug was quite dangerous in Vinarol. Reports show that interactions between nitrates and Sildenafil may result in profound and life-threatening lowering of blood pressure. Reports online state, “The use of nitrates in any form is an absolute contraindication for sildenafil users. The potential for this product to be taken by unknowing nitrate users is real, since erectile dysfunction is often a concurrent condition in patients with diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smokers and patients with ischemic heart disease.”

Again, this supplement was voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer. In fact, Ultra Health Laboratories released a statement that shared, “Consumers who have purchased Vinarol tablets are urged to immediately discontinue their use and return them to their place of purchase or directly to Ultra Health Laboratories, Inc,” and “Consumers who have used this product and have medical concerns should consult with their health care providers.”

Prescription drugs are controlled for a reason, and people need a doctor’s advice on whether a medication is healthy when paired with their specific needs, medical history and lifestyle. This is why so many people were outraged when it was discovered that this natural supplement contained such an ingredient in their tablets.
