Weight Watchers Review Summary |
Weight Watchers is a well known, popular diet program that has been around since the 1960s. This program advertises to provide dieters with the information and the support that is necessary to lose weight and keep it off. This program is well known for its local support groups, which are said to help keep dieters on track to achieve their goals. Currently, Weight Watchers does have a few different programs to choose from, so we will take a closer look at this brand below to determine how it may help consumers with their weight loss needs.

Dieters who join Weight Watchers have two different programs to choose from. There is the Flex Plan, which assign points to foods that dieters are meant to count instead of calories, and there is also the Core Plan, which is the newest Weight Watchers program that focuses on making smart, health food choices rather than counting points or calories.

Weight Watchers is probably best known for its Flex Plan. Dieters who choose this program do not have to exclude any food from their daily diet, but they must adhere to an assigned daily point range. Many dieters are allowed anywhere from 20 to 30 points per day. The amount of points assigned to foods is done by Weight Watchers and is provided to members. For example, one slice of bread is 2 points, an ounce of chocolate is 4 points and one cup of spaghetti with a half cup of marinara sauce is worth 6 points.
The Core Plan is structured quite differently. This plan actually does limit some foods and has consumers stick to meal plans that focus on a “core” list of foods that consists of healthy and nutritious options. As mentioned, the Core Plan is the newest program within the Weight Watchers brand.
One drawback to Weight Watchers is the lack of detailed fitness guidance. This program primarily focuses on meal plans, but it does suggest that consumers exercise consistently. Though, the fitness advice provided by Weight Watchers is very limited.

Ultimately, while Weight Watchers is a well established program that has helped people achieve weight loss goals, it does not change the fact that weight loss still requires dedication, hard work and patience. Weight Watchers does not offer dieters a quick fix, but rather the guidance they need to make lifestyle changes. Some dieters may appreciate that Weight Watchers is so well known and has documented success, but those people who would like to continue their weight loss aid search have plenty of other programs and products to choose from.
