The highlight of Zylene’s formula is that it contains Hoodia, which means that if they use the right amount and highest quality Hoodia, it may cut users hunger. Hoodia has an innate and unique ability to mimic glucose in the blood stream, which may not seem like a big deal, but it is. When the body senses low glucose levels it turns hunger on, when they are high, it turns it off. So when the brain senses Hoodia in blood stream, which it mistakes for glucose, its shuts hunger down. However, Hoodia works best in large dosages, and Zylene uses a proprietary formula, which makes it impossible to determine its effectiveness. We were glad to see that the website for Zylene posts its complete formula, because this allowed us to quickly sort through their formula to see that it contains Hoodia, which as a big plus. However, it also allowed us to see that it does not contain high performing fat burners and energy enhancers, like Advantra Z and Yerba Mate, which was a huge minus. While hunger is an issue for many people, fat burning is an issue that people also struggle with, and it is an important part of the weight loss equation. Zylene does contain Hoodia, which is great, but they failed to disclose how much is used, so it may or it may not have an affect on hunger like it claims to—and just as importantly, this formula does not contain any proven fat burners or thermogenic agents, like Advantra Z or Yerba Mate, which again significantly limits it overall abilities. In fact, we were surprised that Zylene does not contain Advantra Z, because it is a cousin to Ephedra, which means it has much of its fat burning abilities, but without its negative side effects. Often supplements claiming to be as “Strong as Ephedra” will use Advantra Z as a powerful substitute. Since it appears that this formula is lacking in many areas, we believe consumers may be better off looking for a more effective supplement that does contain the previously mentioned ingredients.
